Ezekiel 22:30 And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it:
In the days of old, God would seek out someone to stand in the gap between Him and the wickedness in the land, just as Moses stood in the gap between God and the wickedness of the children of Israel who insulted God when they worshipped a golden calf as their deliverer from the bondage of Egypt. Today God is still seeking someone to stand in the gap for the lost souls of the land.
John 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
God does not want to point a finger at our sins or expose us to shame because Jesus took our sin and shame as a sacrifice in the sight of God; therefore, God sees the shame of His holy Son in the place of the shame of our sin.
Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
When a person gets to a place where he/she is tired of sin, then that person (like the prodigal son) will come to the realization that life is better with God than with the glory of the world. When a man gets beat up by sin, then that man needs to return to his childhood training. If parents do not train their children in the word of God, then when those kids grow up and fall on hard times then some of them will seek help through alcohol, drugs, opioids, or even suicide. Unfortunately, sometimes people who are tired of sin will lean on the church for help and the church will take up stones to execute them or brainwash them in order to manipulate and control them. It is not the will of God for us to destroy people’s lives but to save them according to Luke 9:56. Let’s unite our will with God’s will to save people’s soul starting with our prayers.
Father, in the name of Jesus, we lift up our unsaved loved ones before You. Lord, we acknowledge that Your word says that the wages of sin is death. We also acknowledge that our unsaved loved ones are on the path of eternal death according to the words and actions of their lifestyle. We stand in the gap between our unsaved loved ones and Your wrath. We ask You to have mercy on their soul even as You had mercy upon our soul when we were in sin.
Lord Your word says that Your people are destroyed for the lack of knowledge, and because they have rejected knowledge, You will reject them in the judgment. Dear God, have mercy upon our loved ones who are ignorance of Your judgment toward sins, and have mercy upon our loved ones who understand Your judgment but have rejected it with vain thoughts that they have time or tomorrow to get themselves right with You.
Father, we stand in the gap between You and our unsaved loved ones, asking You to grant them grace and time rather than judgment and wrath. Lord, give them eyes to see that they may see the light of Your word; give them ears to hear that they may hear You call them to the light; give them a heart to understand that they must call on the name of Your Son in order to escape the damnation of sin.
Father, we understand through Your word that when our unsaved loved ones willfully sin, then they are reducing their number of days on the earth. This day, this week, this month, or this year could be their last time on earth, so we stand in the gap asking You to remember not their sins but remember Your Son, who was wounded for their transgression; bruised for their iniquities, brutally chastised so they could have peace, and through His crucifixion, they are healed from the power of sin.
Father, draw our loved ones to Jesus, for it is written that no man can come to Jesus except You draw him. We understand that it is also written that whosoever will, let him come to Jesus and be saved from the judgment of sin and death. Father, there are lost souls in the eternity of hell who forever wish that they had a minute of time just to come to Jesus, yet our loved ones seem to splurge in sin with their time on earth. God, have mercy upon their soul by granting them more time on the earth to get themselves right with You.
Father, allow Your ministering angels to surround our unsaved loved ones, and minister salvation and judgment to them throughout the day and even in the night hours. Father, allow Your warring angels to surround them and protect them from the spirit of death and from evil spirits that are assigned to destroy their soul. Father, we ask that You place people in their path who will minister faith and salvation to their lives and let Your signs and wonders follow Your children as they minister Your will to our unsaved loved ones, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
