Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Some people believe that Genesis 1:1 represents the beginning of the world and everything that God created, but the word beginning represents the beginning of the reign of man.
God was already here.
The world was already here although it was completely covered by water.
Guess what?
Death was already here.
God gave Adam a small glimpse of death when He spoke this command-
Genesis 2
16 You may freely eat of every tree of the garden.
17 But you must not eat of the Tree of knowledge of good and evil: if you choose to eat from the Tree of knowledge of good and evil then you will surely experience death.
Remember, good, evil, and death already existed although Adam and Eve did not have knowledge of them.
When God commanded Adam and Eve not to eat of the Tree of knowledge of good and evil -
God's words enlighten them with a glimpse of the judgment of death.
God's words enlighten them with a glimpse of the countless heartaches that would hit the world.
God's word also gave Adam and Eve the power to exercise their free will of choice.
After God warned Adam, the final decision was in the power of Adam's free will.
Death was already in the earth, but it could not harm anything or anyone.
Like a lion behind steel bars, Death was tamed and could only do harm if it was released by someone who had dominion over the earth.
Genesis 1:26 God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness, and let them have dominion over all the earth.
Death could only be released through the disobedience of Adam.
Genesis 3:1
Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, "Hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?"
Genesis 3
2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden.
3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.
God said what according to Eve?
"God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall you touch it, lest you die."
Do these words give you the impression that God chose death for Adam and Eve?
God could have explained to Adam and Eve that if they ate of the forbidden fruit, then the evil that would be released upon the earth would create countless heartaches, depression, oppression, and discomfort to many people, families, and communities in many ways physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
If God would have spoken and/or shown Adam and Eve what the evil would have done to the world, they would not have comprehended it.
Adam and Eve did not have an ounce of comprehension of sickness, stress, pain, shame, grief, sorrow, bitterness, war, hate, suicide or any other death related force.
Adam and Eve knew the word death, but they didn't have the impact reality of it.
Just as many know the word hell, but they don't have the impact reality of it.
Genesis 3:4 And the serpent said unto the woman -
How did the serpent know that Eve's eyes will become opened?
It sounds like the spirit inside of the serpent had used this deception on someone prior to Eve.
Genesis 3:6 When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit, and did EAT, and gave also to her husband with her; and he did EAT.
MAN CHOSE DEATH
God did not choose death for man
Adam and Eve chose death for man.
In the beginning there was only one way to death, and Adam provided that way
Now there is only one way to life, and Jesus provided that way
