In the beginning (of the reign of man) God created (or re-created) the heaven and the earth.
On the sixth day, God created man in His own image.
God created the spirit of man first (which is life).
James 2:26 The body without the spirit is dead.
After God created the spirit of man, then He descended to earth.
Then God created a physical body from the dust of the ground.
And He placed the spirit (the life) of man inside of that body.
Then God breathed the breath of life into the that body, and man became a living soul.
Man was three in one - spirit, soul, and body.
Just as God is three in one - Father, Word (which later became the Son), and Holy Ghost.
From the rib of Adam, God created a woman to be a helper to the man.
The two of them were alive spiritually.
But what happened after they ate the forbidden fruit?
Their spirit died - and.......
The serpent told Eve that her eyes would become opened if she at the forbidden fruit
And guess what?
Genesis 3:7 And the eyes of them both were opened.
Eve's eyes opened indeed
But unfortunately, her eyes opened to a world without God.
For an example,
If a man suddenly died or was killed,
Then his eyes would closed to the things on the earth
And they would open to the things in the afterlife.
After Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit,
The eyes of their spirit closed to the spirit world of light and life,
And opened to the spirit world of darkness and death.
In other words, Adam's spirit died.
Genesis 3:22
And the LORD God said, Look, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil.
Yes that Old Wise Serpent was right again, and that is how the enemy deceives.
The enemy will speak the truth, then he will twist the truth that it may become a lie.
The enemy may open your eyes to the truth that hell is real and that it is hot,
But he will twist the truth to make you believe that you don't need Jesus to escape hell because hell is only for bad people.
God is not hiding anything from us.
God wants us to know the truth so our soul can be free and saved from darkness and death.
Genesis 3:8
When Adam and Eve heard the voice of God walking in the garden -
They hid themselves from God's presence.
The darkness that entered Adam could not comprehend the light of God's glory -
So Adam fled from the presence of God.
John 1:4
In Jesus was life; and the life was the light of men -
God's life is light and God's light is life -
However, Adam's spirit became void of life and light because
Adam's spirit died -
John 1:5
And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
Light and darkness cannot agree
And this is why the truth of God's word does not make sense to people who are in darkness.
The truth of God's word does not sound logical.
The light of God's word does not make sense.
Turning the other cheek does not make sense to those who are in darkness.
Loving and forgiving your enemies do not make sense to those who operate outside of the light.
The teaching of Jesus' crucifixion to deliver someone from hell may not make sense.
Only when we open ourselves up with faith, can the light of God's word make sense to us.
We have to believe God's truth because the darkness that we inherited from Adam is unable to comprehend the truth.
Let's Take A Closer Look At Adam Before He Spiritually Died
The bible does not give us details about Adam's spirit, but we know that his spirit was full of life and light.
Exodus 33
18 And Moses said, please God, show me Your glory.
19 And God said, I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before you; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy.
20 And God said, Moses, you cannot see My face: for there shall no man see the face of My glory (in his sinful state), and live.
21 And the Lord said, Behold, there is a place by Me, and you shall stand upon a rock:
22 And it shall come to pass, while My glory passeth by, that I will put you in a clift of the rock, and will cover you with My hand while I pass by:
23 And I will take away Mine hand, and you shalt see My back parts: but My face shall not be seen.
When Moses came down from the mountain, the children of Israel were afraid to come near him because the skin of his face was so bright!
Now Think About This.
If the skin of Moses' face was bright after he looked upon the back parts of God's glory, then think about the brightness that was upon Adam!
Unlike Moses, Adam's spirit was in a total state of holiness.
Unlike Moses, Adam's spirit was able to see God's face.
Unlike Moses who was physically clothed and saw the back of God's glory,
Adam was physically naked and lived in the midst of that same glory!
Adam's spirit was alive and beaming with light before he gave in to sin.
Matthew 17
1 And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart,
2 And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.
The testimony of the transfiguration of Jesus before the eyes of three of His disciples is an example of the glory that was upon Adam before he spiritually died.
Remember, Jesus is God.
And Adam was made in the image of God (Jesus).
John 14
7 (Jesus said) If ye had known Me, then you should have known my Father also: and from henceforth you know Him, and have seen Him.
8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known Me, Philip?
he that hath seen Me hath seen the Father (because I am God);
and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?
After Adam ate the forbidden fruit, then the brightness of God's glory departed from him and he saw himself naked.
